Stockton head coach Rich Kromm wraps up the Thunder’s 2013-14 ECHL season with his final coach’s interview of the year. He looks back at the team’s run to the Western Conference Semifinals, talks about his favorite moment from the campaign and outlines what lies ahead in the off-season.
Postgame interview with Stockton Thunder head coach Rich Kromm after his team’s exit from the Kelly Cup Playoffs in the Western Conference Semifinals. The Thunder finished the 2013-14 campaign with 38 wins and 251 goals scored in 81 total games.
Highlights from the Thunder’s 5-3 loss to the Bakersfield Condors in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The Condors took the series 4-1 to move on to the next round. The Thunder took a 3-0 lead with goals from Marc Cantin, Matt Bergland and Alan Quine, but game up five unanswered goals to bring their 2013-14 campaign to an end.
The Stockton Thunder could not hold onto a third period lead as Bakersfield scored twice in the final eight minutes to take 2-1 victory and a 3-1 series lead in the Western Conference Semifinals. Thunder broadcasters Caleb Lamb and Brandon Kisker joined in on the fun of Chuck-A-Duck during game three of the Western Conference Semifinals. The promotion helped raise funds and awareness for the Child Abuse Prevention Council of San Joaquin County’s “Ducky Derby” event on May 31, 2014.
The #7 Stockton Thunder dropped six goals on the #6 Bakersfield Condors in their first home game of the Western Conference Semifinals. That cuts the Condors’ series lead to 2-1 with games four and five to be played at Stockton Arena as well. Ryan Hayes had a two-goal night and the game-winner while James Henry sparked the offense with a shorthanded goal in the second period. Post-game interviews with Henry and head coach Rich Kromm.
