BROADCAST INFORMATION


 1420-AM KSTN

The Thunder and 1420-AM KSTN radio have begun a partnership to broadcast up to 55 regular season games (select games joined in progress) for the 2007-08 season, with Mike Benton returning for his third season as play-by-play announcer, joined by color commentator Derek Eisler and select guest commentators. Broadcasts aired in their entirety will begin 15 minutes prior to the opening face-off with the "Thunder Forecast" pre-game show. 1420-AM KSTN serves as the radio play-by-play home to the Thunder, Stockton Lightning of the arenafootball2 league, MISL California Cougars indoor soccer, Oakland Athletics baseball and University of Pacific athletics.


 B2 NETWORKS
The Thunder and B2 Networks partner for the third consecutive season to offer all 72 Thunder regular season home and away games and Kelly Cup Playoff games to be webcast via an audio link available through the Thunder's website, www.stocktonthunder.com, free-of-charge.

A live, streaming video simulcast of each home game and select road games will also be available through the Thunder's website, on a $6.00 per game Pay-Per-View basis. A high-speed internet connection and Windows Media Player, version 9 or higher, are required to view the Thunder webcasts.

Additionally, The Thunder and Valley Brew Family Restaurant pa, live through B2 Networks' "Bar and Pub Network," giving Thunder fans a centralized location to enjoy out-of-area games in a sports-passionate environment which will feature contests, trivia, complimentary food giveaways and select player autograph signings .

Located at 157 W. Adams Street in Stockton, Valley Brew Family Restaurant is placed in the heart of Stockton's "Miracle Mile" district and features an array of acclaimed burgers, beverages, appetizers, specialties and more, offering customers free wi-fi internet access inside the restaurant.


 COMCAST SJTV
Three regular season games and select Kelly Cup Playoff games (to be determined) during the 2007-08 home campaign will be aired and replayed on Comcast SJTV channel 26, with Erik Alves and Derek Eisler handling commentary duties.

SJTV (San Joaquin Television) is cable Channel 26, a community service of your digital and high-speed Internet provider-Comcast. SJTV can be seen on the Comcast Lodi, Stockton, and Manteca systems. SJTV broadcasts Stockton Thunder and Lightning, Stockton Ports, Pacific athletics, California Cougars and High School football games, as well as "Sportstalk," a weekly interview show highlighting local athletes and coaches.

Tune into AM-970 ESPN Radio each weekday* from 4-7 p.m. for "The Jim," hosted by Jim Wells and joined by Thunder radio broadcaster Mike Benton. Fans can call-in and sound off on their favorite sports topics and subjects covered on the show, which will include interviews with your favorite Thunder players and coaches.

MEET THE THUNDER BROADCAST TEAM

 MIKE BENTON - Radio Play-by-Play 
Mike Benton brings his passionate and informative style back for his third season as radio play-by-play announcer for the Stockton Thunder. He will call all Thunder home, away and playoff games broadcasted on radio at 1420-AM KSTN and online through B-2 Networks, and currently serves as the Thunder's primary media liaison as the team's Media Relations Manager.

Mike, 26, was recently honored with a selection to the radio broadcast team of the 2007 ECHL All-Star Game in Boise, Idaho and graduated in 2004 from Azusa Pacific University with a B.A. degree in Communication Studies. While enrolled in school, he filled roles in play-by-play for APU's basketball telecasts, football on the school's campus radio station and reported on ESPN2's Los Angeles-area local "Valley Sports2" magazine show.

An Azusa, Calif. native, Mike also serves as radio play-by-play announcer for the arenafootball2 league's Stockton Lightning and is a co-host on AM-970 ESPN Radio's   weekday "The Jim" show. His previous broadcasting experience also includes stints with UC Riverside women's basketball and in Minor League Baseball with the Dayton Dragons and High Desert Mavericks.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio and an avid golfer, Mike served internships with the Los Angeles Kings, Fox Sports, and Rancho Cucamonga Quakes while in college. He currently resides in Stockton.



 DEREK EISLER - Radio/Television Color Commentator
 
An established figure of the Northern California hockey community, Derek Eisler brings his expertise and insight into his first full season in the Thunder broadcast booth, teaming with play-by-play announcer Mike Benton as radio color commentator for select home and road games on 1420-AM KSTN and online through B-2 Networks, while returning for his third season in the same role for Comcast SJTV's television coverage with television play-by-play announcer Erik Alves.

Eisler began his radio stint working as color commentator on select Thunder broadcasts last season and has been heavily involved as a teacher of the game in the San Jose and Stockton areas, previously serving as Director of Coaches and Head Coach at the Midget ‘AAA' level for the San Jose junior Sharks program and assisting with various hockey camps at Stockton's Oak Park Ice Arena. Eisler began serving as a coach of the San Jose Sharks-affiliated China Sharks (Asian League) in September 2006.

Eisler, who has 17 years of experience as a coach or scout in the NHL, college and junior ranks, was an assistant coach on Kevin Constantine's staff with the San Jose Sharks from 1993-96, helping guide the Sharks to their first two Stanley Cup Playoff berths in franchise history in 1994 and 1995. In his time with the Sharks, Eisler helped serve in all areas of coaching, development and staff organizational structure.

Eisler currently resides in Stockton with his wife Renee and three daughters, Sidney (10), Hanna (7) and Abby (3).



 ERIK ALVES- Television Play-by-Play
Erik Alves
enters his third season handling television play-by-play duties for select Thunder home games broadcasted on Comcast SJTV.

Alves currently is in his ninth year as sports director for SJTV and handles a myriad of broadcast duties with the station, additionally handling television play-by-play coverage for the Stockton Lightning of the arenafootball2 league, the Stockton Ports of minor league baseball's California League, University of Pacific athletics, local high school football, California Cougars indoor soccer and host duties for SJTV's local "SportsTalk" interview program.

Alves has been with Comcast since 1997 and graduated from San Francisco State University in 1999 with a B.A. degree in Communications. A resident of Manteca, Alves is married (wife - Heather) with a son (Brady).
